KEEN St. Louis is hiring for a part-time Program Coordinator.


Position Type: Part-time, 8-10 hours the week of sessions at SLUH

Location: Saint Louis University High School and home office

Required Hours: Sunday afternoons on scheduled session dates

Salary: $18/hour


Description: The part-time Program Coordinator for KEEN St. Louis will work with our dynamic group of volunteer coaches, athletes, and supporters to lead KEEN’s recreational programs at Saint Louis University High School, including KEEN Sports, Music, and Dance.


KEEN’s mission is to empower youth with disabilities by providing free, non-competitive, one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness, and fun – all led by volunteer coaches. KEEN’s vision is fostering the self-confidence, self-esteem and inclusion in the community for youth with disabilities; strengthening the community through the education of volunteers; and providing families with respite and a supportive network. 


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for sessions in advance
  • Connect with Program Manager regarding upcoming week’s sessions
  • Send reminder emails to volunteers, coaches committee members, athletes, and facility contacts
  • Print volunteer roster and name tags
  • Assist with recruitment of volunteers, if needed, with support from Program Manager
  • Facilitate KEEN Sports, Music, and Dance activities on scheduled Sundays
  • Print volunteer roster and name tags
  • Set up sports equipment on gym floor and chairs on mezzanine
  • Conduct orientation for new volunteers
  • Assign volunteer and athlete pairings
  • Monitor gym floor and guide volunteers as needed
  • Support volunteers with challenging athlete behaviors
  • Clean up sports equipment and chairs
  • Prepare binders for next sessions
  • Complete necessary paperwork following sessions
  • Input volunteer and athlete attendance into Apricot
  • Send thank you emails to new volunteers
  • Attend monthly staff meetings


Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred), High school diploma (required)
